Barnie is both photographer and our founder, brings a wealth of overseas and Civil Service experience, across different industries and disciplines, topped off with a MBA from the Nanyang Business School. His photographic work has won acclaim at the prestigious and commercially-recognized Lucie International Photography Awards since 2006, and a number of his photographs have been featured in both local and international publications since 2005.
A late entrant to the photography world, he only started to really dabble in taking pictures with a digital camera in 1999. Only getting seriously involved in early 2003 when he started leading photographic outings around Singapore. By end of the year, he opted to start this business to serve friends and clients. Barnie’s versatility and passion is reflected in the diversity of his accolades at IPA and in his diverse portfolio encompassing gorgeous interiors and homes, stunning architecture, heavenly food photos, beautiful portraits of people and nature, plus his personal collection of infrared photographic artwork. His passion continues to burn brightly with regular displays of his personal work online.
Darren had his first exposure to photography at the tender age of 8, where he followed his uncle around on photo-taking adventures. Over the years, his interest in photography grew, together with his work experience in a photo lab and formal education in design, launched his career as a full time photographer in 2007. Since then, exposure to different genres has only fueled his passion for people and portrait photography. The challenge of not expecting what comes up next, to catch the right moment when a subject’s character shines through, is what truly intrigues him. Darren is always on the lookout for the telling moment, where every picture shall tell a story.
Darren believe in exceeding expectations and challenging himself every step of the way. His work has won accolades at local events and bridal competitions, and his photographs have been published in a variety of magazines and hotels. People portraits has also been his forte, from bridals to maternity and infants, and up to corporate and celebratory events.
Kwok Kin Fei started off as an early apprentice of Barnie’s. in his tenure with Photonx, he has won Singapore’s inaugural Young Architecture Photographer Award, and progressed to win Honorable Mention at the International Photography Awards. He has also helped to transform the business into its present niche.
Lui Wah Hon is a member of the World Ethnic Chinese Photographers’ Association, the Photographic Society of New York and the South-East Asia Photographic Society. With over 30 years of photographic experience, his portfolio includes portraits of many government personalities. He brings a wealth of experience and professional photo-finishing to the team.
